Hudson River Fellowship 2009

After much anticipation, the results for this year's Hudson River Fellowship are now in. David and his wife Kate Stone will both be attending this scholarship course taught by Jacob Collins in the Catskills of New York. It will be an amazing opportunity to meet other emerging artists from around the world.

PRAXIS: Beauty and Truth

David is participating in the first annual salon of the Canadian Society of Classical Realism. The salon is hosted by the John D Carrier Gallery in Toronto and, after the exhibition being extended twice, will be on display until the end of June. David's submissions include "Army of One," "Lucie in Profile," "Naomi," and "Hunters."

ARC International Salon 2009

David has won a semi-finalist placement in this year's annual ARC Salon for his portrait of Lucie in profile.

Third Place in ARC Scholarship Competition

David has been awarded third place in the prestigious and highly competitive annual Art Renewal Center Scholarship competition. His prize consists of $1500 scholarship money.

Third Place in Junction Arts Festival

Dave was awarded third place in the Junction Arts Festival Juried Art Exhibition yesterday. Five award winners were selected out of a group of 62 artists to receive prizes sponsored by local businesses. David would like to extend his thanks to the Westend Offset Plate Service for their generous prize.

The Inspired Line: Art Exhibition at the Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts

David and his wife Kate will be participating in an exhibit showcasing local classical realists at the Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts. The opening starts at 7 pm and goes on until 9:30 pm and artists will be in attendance. Please see the invitation below.

David Chosen for "Strokes of Genius 2"

The creators of "Strokes of Genius: The Best of Drawing Light and Shadow" will be issuing a second book, and two of David's drawings have been selected for this publication. "Mikaela" and "Invented Landscape" will appear in this prestigious publication in 2009.

Galleria 814: Grand Opening Show

David will be participating in a group show to celebrate the opening of Galleria 814. Two drawings will be hanging from June 18 to mid-July. For more information, contact the artist.

Richeson 75: Portrait & Figure

David has made finalist in the prestigious annual Richeson 75 Portrait and Figure Competition. His drawing, "Lucy", will be displayed at the Richeson Art Gallery and will be eligible for a higher award this June. "Lucy" will also be featured in the hardcover book covering the exhibit.

Landscape Workshop Details Now Available
